VALENTINE DINNER

The Baptist Men will be hosting a Valentine’s dinner on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:30pm. The emphasis on this night will be on our wives, single moms, widows and senior adult ladies of our congregation. Menu will be lasagna, Greek salad, bread, and dessert.
 
There is no cost for dinner to any ladies in attendance, but we need to know if you are coming and if you need transportation. To help us prepare, we ask that everyone–including those on the permanent Wednesday night meal list–please sign up or call the church office at (828) 883-8251.


Region 9 Missions Rally

Baptists On Mission Region 9 Missions Rally will be Tuesday, February 19 at Newbridge Baptist Church in Asheville. We will need to leave the church by 4:45 pm. We will enjoy a meal at 5:50 pm, followed by a great time of worship, testimonies, and information on mission opportunities.
 
There is no cost to you, but you must register by February 12 for the meal. Sign up in the church office. If you have any questions please contact Michael Childers.


W.E.E. SCHOOL TEACHER NEEDED

W.E.E. School is accepting applications for the positions of Teacher and Assistant for the 2019-2020 school year. Please contact Diane Brown at (828) 883-9839 for an application.


Fuge Summer Camp

Fuge Camp is June 15-19 at Ridgecrest in Black Mountain, NC. Camp cost total is $350 for students at FBC Brevard. This includes the $317 camp fee as well as $33 to cover the student’s meal on the way to camp and part of the snacks the church purchases for the week.
 
 
PAYMENTS AND DEADLINES
  • Registration forms and $60 deposit are due to Tony Ladley by January 27.  IF YOU MISSED THIS DEADLINE, CONTACT TONY ASAP!
  • Payment of $115 is due March 1 (this amount may differ if you paid deposits for more than one student – check with Tony).
  • Students who make the scheduled payments and participate in the fundraisers will not have any additional funds to pay.
 
FUNDRAISING
Students are expected to participate in potato lunch fundraisers to help raise the balance of the funds for camp. The dates for potato lunches are January 27, February 24, and March 17.
 
PARENT MEETING
Parents of students going to Fuge will have a meeting (time and place to be announced). Fuge paperwork will be distributed when the first payment is turned in. Bring completed Fuge paperwork to be notarized and a copy of your child’s insurance card to this meeting.


CentriKid Summer Camp

CentriKid Camp is June 20-24 at Ridgecrest in Black Mountain, NC. Camp cost total is $350 for children at FBC Brevard. This includes the camp fee, the child’s meal on the way to camp, and a camp t-shirt.

SPONSORSHIPS
A sponsorship form is provided for you to fundraise the $175 that is due April 28. This is a way for your child to take some responsibility and ownership of the fundraising for camp.

Parents of children going to CentriKid will meet on April 28 at 4:00 pm in the FBC Fellowship Hall. CentriKid paperwork will be distributed when the first payment is turned in. Please bring CentriKid paperwork to be notarized and a copy of your child’s insurance card to this meeting.


AWANA at FBC Brevard

FBC Brevard is proud to offer the AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) discipleship program for ages 2-18.
 
AWANA is held on Sunday evenings with dinner starting at 5:00 pm, followed by Bible lessons, time for study and scripture memorization, and recreation from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Parents are encouraged to arrive at 7:15 pm to watch awards in the Fellowship Hall.
