MISSIONS
We are working to share God’s love
in our own neighborhoods and around the world.
OUR ACTS 1:8 VISION
Inspired by the words in Acts 1:8…
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
…we encourage all people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether in our own community, across the nation, or in a foreign country.
Our Jerusalem = Transylvania County
Our Judea = North Carolina
Our Samaria = North America, with a focus on reaching across cultures
Our end of the earth = the World
OUR MISSIONS ACTION PLAN: PRAY, GIVE, GO
Pray
We pray for specific missionaries when we gather, especially on Wednesday nights, but also in small groups and Sunday School classes.
Give
Our church donates 10% of all offerings to missions. In addition, our congregation gives to multiple special missions projects, including Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong, Baptist Children’s Homes, The Center for Women, and Transylvania Christian Ministries (Sharing House). Sunday School classes and other small groups also provide support to specific ministries and missionaries.
Go
Our members are active in a number of ministries, locally, statewide, in our nation, and across the world. We share God’s love at street festivals in downtown Brevard, at Broyhill Children’s Home, and with workers at the Mountain State Fair. Each year, teams from our church travel to Kentucky and Vermont to assist with practical projects and evangelistic outreach. Our members have traveled to Southeast Asia and South America to support ongoing missions efforts in those places.
