W.E.E. School

A safe and loving environment where children can begin preparation for kindergarten and learn about God’s love.

Curriculum

W.E.E. school uses the WEE Learn curriculum developed by the Child Development Education Alliance (previously Lifeway). This curriculum provides a framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did: “in wisdom and stature” and “in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).

Physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual development are interrelated. The teacher selects activities and experiences that provide a balanced program of early childhood education ultimately preparing children for kindergarten.

As a mission outreach of First Baptist Church, children are also taught about God and His love. The curriculum is designed to develop the whole child–spirit, mind and body in a loving, safe, Christian environment.

A snack is provided each day at no additional cost to parents.

Each day children spend at least one hour or more in free play in the classroom, indoor playroom, or fenced outdoor playground. This gives the children time to socialize and interact with each other.

Thirty minutes each week is spent in music, where the children do a variety of activities involving singing, rhythm instruments, Bible songs, action movement, and fingerplays.

Special events include a Christmas program presented by the 3- and 4-year-old classes and a graduation program for the 4-year-olds each spring.

Tuition is based on an annual fee divided into ten (10) monthly payments August through May. A $80 registration fee (non refundable) for 2-3 days a week.  Registration fee for 5 days a week is $120.00

Celebrating Over 50 Years Of Sharing God’s Love to Children

First Baptist’s W.E.E. School has been a stable rock in the community for more than 50 years, providing hundreds of children with a safe and loving environment in which to prepare for kindergarten.
W.E.E. School first began in 1968 as a kindergarten with approximately 60 children ages 3, 4, and 5. When kindergarten was included in the public schools, the 5-year-old classes were dropped and a 2-year-old class was added. The school reached a high enrollment in 2004-2005 with 108 students. Classes have changed over the years to accommodate the changing educational options available in the county. Currently, W.E.E. School has a maximum enrollment of 76 children.
Stability, consistency and quality have been keys to W.E.E. School’s success. The current staff has many years of experience in working with preschoolers. Current director, Diane Brown, is one of only 7 directors who have guided W.E.E. school over the last 50 years. Each class has a teacher and assistant, which ensures that each child receives one-on-one attention.
