Serving our church, our community, and beyond.
There is an important place for each of us to serve others’ spiritual, physical, and financial needs. In Matthew 25, Jesus instructs his disciples to serve “the least of these.” Our members are involved in a variety of ministries that serve folks in our church, our community, and beyond.
Learn more about our ministries below. When you’re ready to join, contact the church office at (828) 883-8251 or sign up here.

Prayer Committee

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning worship service, a team of volunteers is praying for our congregation. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Committee pray for the pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. For more information, contact Marianna Clarke.

Wednesday Fellowship Dinner

The whole family is welcome at our Wednesday night suppers starting at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Kids eat free! Contact the church office by Tuesday to make a reservation. Stay for our Acts 2:42 Service, where we take time for prayer and have a short Bible study (or on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, our monthly church conference).

Children & Student Ministries

Our children and student ministries play an important role in reaching the next generation for Christ. Our primary focus for children and youth programs is discipleship, but our kids also have a lot of fun in a Christ-centered, safe environment. Church members who work in these ministries have meaningful interactions with kids while teaching Biblical truths. Contact Tony Ladley to find out how you can help pour into our young people.

Young at Heart

Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, our Young at Heart group provides a time of fellowship, refreshment and ministry. Young at Heart meets the second Tuesday of each month for a covered dish luncheon and some serious fun in the Fellowship Hall. Excursions are scheduled throughout the year. Contact Jeff or Donna Maynard for more information.

Music Ministry

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. There are many ways to serve in our music ministry, including our choir, special music, instruments, handbell choir, and drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Contact Josh O’Hara to learn how you can join the music programs.

Media & Technology

In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible to grow God’s kingdom. Our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication. Contact Porsha Smith to volunteer to help with this important ministry.

Men’s Brotherhood Group

Men of all ages are invited to gather and grow their faith “as iron sharpens iron” with breakfast and Bible study on the second Sunday of each month at 8:00 am. In addition to opportunities for fellowship and discipleship, Brotherhood works to serve our congregation and the larger community. Ministry projects are scheduled as needed.
